Assurance Senior Associate

Location: Toronto, with candidates in Ontario or Quebec preferred; consistent onsite presence at a firm office and travel to client sites required.

Compensation: $58,500–$101,600 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate audits of complex financial statements, disclosures, and related client deliverables.
• Apply hirify.global’s Global Audit Methodology and relevant accounting and auditing standards.
• Plan and manage audit engagements from fieldwork through completion, monitoring schedules, productivity, and quality.
• Train, supervise, mentor, and provide performance feedback to Audit Associates.
• Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to managers, senior managers, and partners.
• Prepare financial statement feedback, board communications, deficiency letters, management letters, and other deliverables while addressing client concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another discipline from an accredited university.
• Active CPA license or demonstrated progress toward CPA licensure in the province of residence.
• 2–3 years of recent assurance experience in a public accounting environment.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, CASs, or other relevant regulatory requirements, with experience applying accounting and auditing standards.
• Experience performing audit testing, supporting financial statement preparation, reviewing workpapers, and mentoring staff.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, research, organizational, and project management skills; ability to work onsite during core hours, at client sites, and extended or non-standard hours during peak periods.
