Accountant (Climate Technologies)

Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania; full-time, office-based role.

What you will do

• Verify incoming invoices against purchase orders and contracts, then enter and archive them in the weclapp ERP system.
• Create and enter outgoing invoices, execute payment runs, monitor payment holds, and validate goods receipts before payment.
• Import bank statements into the ERP system and reconcile open accounts receivable and accounts payable items.
• Process T&E, lodge, and purchase card statements.
• Upload invoices to DATEV Unternehmen Online with the supporting details required for accounting entries under the German Commercial Code.
• Support ERP integration, monthly and annual closing under HGB and US-GAAP, and VAT reconciliation and advance VAT returns for Germany and Switzerland.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in a comparable accounting position.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Fluent English and intermediate German are required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to collaborate across international and cross-functional teams.
• Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in Romania; visa sponsorship or work authorization will not be provided.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of IFRS and/or German GAAP.
