CAD Technician (OpenRoads)

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York

Salary: $95,975.90–$109,686.74 per year

What you will do

• Develop, update, and maintain roadway and transportation design drawings and models.
• Produce plans, profiles, cross-sections, and construction documents according to project requirements and applicable standards.
• Translate engineering concepts into coordinated CAD/BIM deliverables in collaboration with civil engineers and BIM leads.
• Perform QA/QC checks for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with state DOT, transit agency, and federal standards.
• Organize and maintain project files in ProjectWise or similar document management systems.
• Support multidisciplinary coordination and design updates from concept through construction.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in CAD, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience supporting civil or transportation engineering projects.
• Required proficiency in OpenRoads, OpenBuildings, and OpenBridge.
• Experience with Bentley Open products, MicroStation, AutoCAD-based platforms, Civil 3D, and CAD/BIM workflows; Revit may be required.
• Experience supporting projects for MTA, Port Authority, NJ Transit, and/or NYSDOT.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and design standards, while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with multidisciplinary coordination in BIM environments.
• Familiarity with agency-specific CAD/BIM standards and naming conventions.
• Experience with large-scale transportation or transit infrastructure projects.
