Transit Architect

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York; onsite, full-time

Salary: $119,317.24–$136,362.56 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate architectural and engineering teams throughout the full project life cycle, from initial design through construction documents.
• Prepare architectural plans, design layouts, construction details, specifications, and technical solutions.
• Perform design and construction system analysis, planning studies, code analysis, material selections, and site inspections.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, manufacturers, and other disciplines on project requirements and deliverables.
• Lead and coach architectural staff and review work for quality, standards, code compliance, and technical adequacy.
• Support construction administration, including shop drawing and RFI reviews.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture; M.Arch preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience as a project architect in the rail/transit sector.
• Required experience in transportation projects and transit architecture, including stations and related facilities.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent design, technical detailing, presentation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• New York State registered Architect license preferred; knowledge of IBC, NFPA, and applicable architectural codes required.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenBuildings, Rhino, 3ds Max, SketchUp, or LEED accreditation.
• New York State registered Architect license.
