Houston Technology Audit & Advisory Experienced Consultant

Location: Houston, United States; hybrid workplace with in-person work at the local office and client sites, plus possible local or out-of-state travel

Salary: $66,000–$99,000 annually, plus a $2,000 bonus target; estimated total cash range of $68,000–$101,000.

What you will do

• Conduct client interviews, compile and analyze data, document findings, and summarize recommendations.
• Assess technology risks, controls, governance, and compliance across client organizations.
• Develop audit deliverables including process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
• Support engagements involving cybersecurity, cloud assurance, IT general controls, SOX, data privacy, enterprise applications, and technology resilience.
• Apply analytics, AI, automation, and other technology-enabled methods to improve audit analysis and efficiency.
• Build client relationships, collaborate with project teams, and take ownership of assigned work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, cybersecurity, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in internal audit, consulting, assurance, risk and control programs, or a related field.
• Understanding of IT audit methodologies and control frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, or ITIL.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and technology compliance implications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Visio and Access is also expected.
• Interest in data and technology trends, including cybersecurity, cloud, data governance, privacy, analytics, and enterprise applications.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, or RPA solutions.
• Certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or similar.
