Business Development Manager (MedTech)

Johnson & Johnson MedTech develops healthcare and medical technology solutions, with this role supporting the DePuy Synthes orthopaedics business in China.

What you will do

• Identify and evaluate partnerships, licensing opportunities, and early-stage acquisition targets aligned with DPS China strategy.
• Analyze medical device, healthcare technology, and digital health markets, competitors, technologies, and emerging trends in China.
• Build market, financial, and valuation models and prepare structured recommendations and business cases.
• Support cross-functional deal teams across Commercial, Marketing, R&D, Finance, Legal, and Regulatory.
• Coordinate due diligence and prepare investment memos, presentations, and management materials.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and selected external partners while following governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, science, engineering, business, or a related field.
• Experience in business development, strategy, consulting, venture, or commercial roles within healthcare, medical devices, or life sciences.
• Understanding of medical device or healthcare technology ecosystems in China.
• Experience with market analysis, financial modeling, and business case development.
• Strong structured thinking, attention to detail, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin is required. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is also required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or Master’s degree.
• Professional training relevant to business development or strategy.
• Experience with alliance formation, business valuations, negotiation, customer alignment, or product strategy.
