Senior Environmental Test Engineer I (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States. Workplace: On-site.

What you will do

• Create hardware test procedures, ensure test readiness, and resolve issues during environmental test campaigns.
• Develop standard operating procedures for environmental test technicians.
• Improve environmental test processes to increase throughput and accelerate the transition from engineering development to production.
• Identify and implement initiatives that improve operational safety, product quality, and test efficiency.
• Qualify environmental test equipment and processes for reliable, high-throughput production.
• Develop test equipment automation and troubleshoot hardware, equipment, and software issues through permanent corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least four years of related experience.
• Experience in aerospace hardware testing and environmental qualification.
• Experience operating or maintaining thermal chambers, TVAC chambers, and/or vibration shakers.
• Experience with test instrumentation such as thermocouples, accelerometers, and pressure transducers.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD, GEVS, or SMC standards.
• Must meet U.S. Government space technology export-control eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling production-rate capability.
• Experience with RTCA DO-160 aerospace environmental qualification campaigns.
• Experience automating hardware tests with Python, C++, or similar technologies.
