Senior Environmental Test Engineer II (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Create hardware test procedures and ensure readiness for environmental test campaigns.
• Develop standard operating procedures for environmental test technicians.
• Improve environmental test processes to increase throughput, reduce lead time, labor hours, and operational burden.
• Identify, implement, and qualify test equipment and processes for safe, high-reliability production.
• Troubleshoot hardware defects, test equipment anomalies, and software problems; determine root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop test equipment automation and enable greater production autonomy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and at least 6 years of related experience.
• Experience in a hardware test environment within the aerospace industry.
• Experience operating or maintaining thermal chambers, TVAC chambers, and/or vibration shakers.
• Experience with test instrumentation such as thermocouples, accelerometers, and pressure transducers.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD-xxx, GEVS, SMC, or related standards.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling production-rate capability.
• Experience with RTCA DO-160 aerospace environmental qualification campaigns.
• Hardware automation experience using Python, C++, or similar technologies.
