IDOT Staff Auditor (Transportation)

Location: Hybrid role based in Madison, Wisconsin, supporting the Illinois Department of Transportation at its headquarters in Springfield, Illinois.

Salary: $62,000–$95,610 per year.

What you will do

• Provide assurance and consulting services as a member of the engagement team.
• Gather information and complete Single Audit testing throughout the year.
• Perform substantive testing and review costs associated with client billing.
• Test internal controls, identify deficiencies, and discuss improvement recommendations.
• Investigate billing discrepancies, ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations, and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while participating in coaching and professional development.

Requirements

• Four-year degree.
• At least one year of professional experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, relationship-building, problem-solving, initiative, adaptability, and personal-development skills.
• Highly developed Microsoft Suite skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
