Specialist R&D Engineer (Polymers)

Salary: €59,360–€94,976 per year.

What you will do

• Lead product development projects from concept through commercialization, including raw material changes, cost-out initiatives, new product introduction, and product-line maintenance.
• Translate product requirements into specifications by selecting and testing materials, product designs, and manufacturing processes.
• Plan projects, manage timelines and resources, and communicate progress to cross-functional teams, management, customers, and suppliers.
• Own design control activities, including specifications and design verification and validation plans and reports.
• Develop test methods, investigate customer complaints and nonconformances, and support product risk management.
• Conduct literature and patent searches, prepare intellectual property disclosures, and provide technical support to sales, marketing, and manufacturing.

Requirements

• Master’s degree, preferably a PhD, in Polymer Science or Chemistry.
• 3–5 years of research and development or product development experience.
• Experience with polymers, plastics, or pressure-sensitive adhesives is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, analyze problems, and develop creative solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear technical writing.
• Knowledge of statistics and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups; experience with Google Workspace, ERP, statistical, and function-specific software.

Nice to have

• Experience with Minitab.
• Experience or strong interest in AI-powered platforms for research, data interpretation, and innovation.
