Sr Staff Project/Program Design (Semiconductor)

Location: Takasaki, Japan; onsite role with no remote work available

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional teams across design, marketing, systems and applications, validation, product and test engineering, firmware/software, supply chain, procurement, packaging, and quality.
• Manage end-to-end NPI program planning and execution from concept through market launch, including ramp readiness and safe launch activities.
• Lead capacity-expansion initiatives across global manufacturing sites and coordinate engineering, operations, and supply chain activities.
• Conduct formal project gate reviews and maintain accurate schedules, qualification plans, and program tracking systems.
• Oversee wafer fabrication, assembly, test operations, and material logistics to support timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality execution.
• Identify and mitigate risks, communicate milestones and release status, and provide structured updates and recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a PhD is preferred.
• At least 12 years of semiconductor industry experience, including strong knowledge of the full product lifecycle.
• At least 6 years of experience as an NPI Program Manager; experience with module, controller, and smart power stage programs is preferred.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing flows, package architectures, production processes, and diverse package types.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional programs, with strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern project management tools, supported by program or project management training or certification.

Nice to have

• Prior experience at a fab or assembly site as a process or integration engineer.
• Experience with module, controller, and smart power stage programs.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering.
