Strategic Innovation Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Redmond, Oregon, United States; full-time role with periodic visits to the manufacturing facility.

Salary: $147,258.00–$220,887.00 per year.

What you will do

• Research, design, develop, and implement emerging technologies for new equipment, components, and systems.
• Design mechanical, electrical, structural, and control systems for equipment prototypes.
• Create research and product-development proposals, technology roadmaps, budgets, timelines, and feasibility assessments.
• Develop testing plans, scripts, and apparatuses; assist with prototype testing and analyze results to guide product improvements.
• Support cross-functional design reviews, complex customer solutions, and compliance with AHRI, UL, ASHRAE, and other applicable standards.
• Mentor engineering teams and maintain BOMs, drawings, technical reports, engineering standards, and CAPEX/OPEX proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• 7+ years of product engineering experience, preferably in data center cooling, HVAC, or a related industry.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo and engineering analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience with PLM systems, ERP integration, technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work periodically in manufacturing conditions involving temperature changes, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
