Senior Project Manager (Building Design and Construction)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; duties are performed in office and field environments with regular visits to active construction sites, including potentially remote sites. Mandatory community meetings, driving to various sites, and night or weekend work may be required.

Salary: $228,000–$245,000 annually

What you will do

• Manage complex public building and infrastructure projects valued generally between $20 million and $75 million from concept through final contract closeout.
• Develop project budgets, calculate overhead, track expenditures, and enforce cost-control measures.
• Oversee conceptual design, schematic plans, and civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, and geotechnical engineering specifications.
• Direct environmental impact reporting, zoning compliance, and building and utility permitting.
• Administer contracts, including work statements, progress billings, contractor change orders, and dispute negotiations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, architects, contractors, public stakeholders, special interest groups, and city commissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or a closely related field, or an accepted equivalent based on extensive direct experience or valid California PE or Architect registration.
• At least 15 years of direct construction, architectural, engineering, or construction management experience may substitute for the standard education and experience requirements.
• Proven ability to use computer-based project management software to establish, track, and modify job-order schedules.
• Exceptional stakeholder coordination, conflict resolution, leadership, and communication skills.
• Availability to perform essential duties in office, field, and active construction-site environments, including assigned night and weekend work.
