TL;DR
Operations Oversight Specialist (Nuclear Operations): Conducting operational surveillances, reviewing procedures and logs, coordinating readiness reviews, and tracking DOE oversight findings in a regulated nuclear cleanup environment with an accent on compliance, safety, and operational readiness. Focus on assessing Hanford Tank Farms and the Waste Treatment & Immobilization Plant, documenting findings, escalating safety concerns, and supporting multidisciplinary environmental management services.

Location: Richland, Washington, United States; predominantly on-site at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site. Some remote support may be approved by the Contracting Officer. The role is field-based and requires PPE.

What you will do

  • Conduct operations surveillances and detailed operational assessments.
  • Review operating procedures, logs, and readiness documentation.
  • Coordinate readiness reviews and support operational compliance activities.
  • Document and track DOE oversight findings.
  • Communicate issues and escalate safety concerns when required.
  • Support safety, environment, quality, nuclear safety, engineering, and regulatory functions for Hanford operations.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of DOE operations oversight experience, preferably in nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or an equivalent field.
  • Experience with operations oversight, procedure review, and reporting.
  • Strong judgment, independence, field presence, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work predominantly on-site at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.
  • Facility Clearance is required; DOE clearance may be required based on the assigned work.
