Laboratory Director (Principal Officer)

What you will do

• Provide strategic and scientific leadership for Singapore laboratory operations, including sample processing, sequencing, bioinformatics, quality, and testing workflows.
• Develop operational plans, capacity strategies, performance targets, staffing models, training programs, and competency plans.
• Represent hirify.global Lab Services with internal partners, regulators, auditors, collaborators, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee budgets, cost efficiency, operational performance, and profitability in partnership with finance leads.
• Ensure safe laboratory operations and the technical validity of all tests offered.
• Lead quality and risk management, including document control, deviations, CAPA, incident investigations, audits, proficiency testing, and accreditation activities.

Requirements

• BSc or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, or a related scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in clinical, molecular, or high-complexity laboratory settings.
• Experience overseeing and operating a laboratory testing service in a regulated clinical environment, such as CAP, CLIA, ISO 15189, HSA, or MOH.
• Deep understanding of next-generation sequencing technologies, bioinformatics concepts, and clinical genomics workflows.
• Proven experience building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, decision-making, strategic planning, risk management, and clinical governance skills.
