Vice President, Portfolio Management Team Leader - Juris Banking Lending

Location: San Diego, California, at 450 B St

Salary: $170,000–$212,547 annually for San Diego; additional salary ranges apply to San Jose and New York. The role may also include annual bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock.

What you will do

• Manage the workflow, prioritization, and resource allocation for portfolio managers and credit analysts.
• Own end-to-end loan execution, including underwriting coordination, timelines, and process improvements.
• Act as the primary escalation point for standard transactions and portfolio risks.
• Partner with sales and banking teams to develop client relationships and maintain an efficient credit process.
• Assess client credit needs, prescreen potential loans, and determine appropriate structures and analysis requirements.
• Review credit documentation, oversee portfolio analysis and optimization, and lead team hiring, coaching, performance management, and development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in portfolio management or a similar role, with advanced knowledge of commercial credit underwriting and loan structuring.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous leadership experience.
• Strong analytical, project management, speaking, and writing skills.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations, including deposits, loan administration, treasury management, and commercial banking products.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance obligations, industry standards, and commercial banking practices.
