Sr Director, Population Genomics

Location: San Diego, California, United States. Full-time role, ideally based in San Diego, with flexibility for exceptional candidates and global travel of 30–50%.

Base salary: $224,900–$337,300 per year, plus eligible bonus or commission and potential equity.

What you will do

• Set the global vision and strategy for population genomics and national genomics programs.
• Lead and empower teams across program management, product management, and product marketing.
• Build a repeatable playbook for engaging with national genomics opportunities and large-scale initiatives.
• Develop partnerships with governments, health ministries, health systems, academic leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Guide proposals, tender and RFP submissions, and multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnership pursuits.
• Oversee program implementation, stakeholder satisfaction, KPIs, ROI measurement, and ethical delivery.

Requirements

• 15+ years of executive-level experience in genomics or a similar industry.
• Deep knowledge of sequencing technologies, population genomics, and laboratory operations.
• Executive presence and the ability to engage national health executives and C-suite partners.
• Demonstrated success securing major national genomics initiative contracts or evaluating and selecting winning bids.
• Advanced degree required; PhD preferred and MBA considered a strong plus.
• Experience with public speaking, executive communication, industry conferences, policy forums, and board-level briefings.
