Staff Engineer II - MuleSoft API Development (MuleSoft)

Location: Dallas/Irving, Texas, United States; full-time onsite role. May require up to 25% travel.

What you will do

• Lead API gateways and API management platforms, including MuleSoft API Manager, policy implementation, consumer onboarding, monitoring, and operational support.
• Establish engineering standards, governance controls, and architectural best practices across application teams.
• Lead technical solution design and strategic planning for complex projects.
• Design reliability practices, recovery procedures, and transaction-specific application performance monitoring metrics.
• Develop technical documentation, system configurations, procedures, and desktop procedures while ensuring compliance with IT policies and industry standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Risk Management, Compliance, and delivery teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of related experience in IT application support, development, networking, or a similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
• 3–5 years of experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API and integration design, development, and support across API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, and CloudHub or hybrid deployments.
• Experience with financial services API ecosystems, API governance, lifecycle management, enterprise API standards, and gateway policy enforcement.
• Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, automated API quality checks, and API security scanning.
• Knowledge of FDX, Open Banking, OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, enterprise integration patterns, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional technical leadership.
