2027 Elevate Program and 2028 Summer Process Risk and Controls Consulting Intern (Risk Consulting)

Location: Chicago, United States; travel to assigned client locations may be required.

Salary: $34–$40 per hour for the 2028 internship. Participation in the Elevate program itself is unpaid.

What you will do

• Support risk consulting and client service projects, including internal audits, SOX and compliance work, and financial reporting control engagements.
• Attend client meetings and assist with consulting project delivery.
• Prepare reports, document findings and recommendations, and discuss results with clients.
• Analyze client information and document work using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Complete client projects efficiently according to timelines and critical dates.
• Travel to client locations as requested and participate in relevant conferences, training, and meetings.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited accounting degree program and working toward a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree.
• At least 90 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
• Anticipated full-time associate start date of Fall 2029 or Winter 2030.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong computer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong multitasking, project management, teamwork, integrity, and professionalism.
• Must be able to travel to assigned client locations and arrange reliable transportation.

Nice to have

• Minimum 3.4 GPA.
• CPA certification or progress toward certification.
• Leadership and involvement in campus or community organizations.
