Senior Paralegal – Banking and Markets Group (Banking)

Location: Chicago, IL, with a hybrid schedule between the office and home. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $74,200–$126,200 USD annually, plus a discretionary bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Prepare documentation for non-standard private client and commercial loans using standard templates.
• Update and maintain banking-related legal templates.
• Manage responses to requests for non-standard client verification letters.
• Assist with reviewing and negotiating confidentiality agreements and triaging banking legal requests.
• Track loan party death matters, including notifications, probate-related filings, and follow-up.
• Support attorneys with bank regulatory matters, legal research, and corporate initiatives.

Requirements

• Paralegal certificate.
• At least five years of relevant paralegal experience at a nationally recognized law firm or in-house legal department.
• Understanding of documentation requirements for secured and unsecured lending.
• Experience preparing loan documents with standard templates.
• Strong legal research, oral communication, written communication, collaboration, and relationship-management skills.
• U.S. work authorization without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
