Patient Benefits Representative Sr.

Location: Onsite at the 2600 Scripture Road clinic in Denton, Texas, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What you will do

• Obtain and verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, eligibility, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses before treatment and at each visit.
• Educate patients about coverage, payment arrangements, and available financial assistance programs.
• Assess patients’ ability to meet expenses, prepare patient cost estimates, and help complete assistance forms.
• Obtain insurance pre-authorization or referral approval codes before treatment.
• Complete reimbursement and liability documentation and forward information to the billing office.
• Review account balances, communicate collection requirements to the front desk, and maintain accurate records in the computer system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least three years of patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent experience required.
• For the senior level, at least two years of patient benefits experience and knowledge of insurance coverage benefits and terminology are required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS coding applications.
• Clear verbal communication and correct use of relevant terminology; required e-learning courses must be completed within 90 days.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Finance or Business, or four years of revenue cycle experience.
