Medical Assistant Instructor - Part-time

Location: Phoenix, AZ, USA; on-campus Monday–Wednesday, 8:00 AM–12:15 PM, with additional weekly hours for grading, tutoring, and student support.

Salary: $27/hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Deliver prepared medical assisting curriculum and hands-on academic and technology training.
• Design lesson plans that account for students’ abilities, learning styles, and individual accommodations.
• Evaluate student progress through cooperative learning, reports, teamwork, and other assessment methods.
• Provide ongoing academic advising, counseling, career guidance, tutoring, and student support.
• Identify students at risk of leaving the course and refer them to campus leadership or student services.
• Collaborate with campus departments, academic committees, and institutional initiatives while following applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least three years of demonstrable hands-on clinical experience as a medical assistant.
• Current knowledge of medical assistant practice and the ability to mentor a diverse student population.
• Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal, oral presentation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work the required on-campus schedule in Phoenix, Arizona and comply with state, Department of Education, and accreditation regulations.

Nice to have

• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential such as RMA, CMA, or NRCMA.
• Advanced education or a college degree.
• Experience with Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or another learning management system.
