Designer, Women's Snow, Outerwear, & Sweaters

Location: Onsite in Carlsbad, California; must live in the San Diego area or be willing to relocate.

Salary: $100,000–$129,000 per year, bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of women's outerwear collections from concept through final product.
• Design jackets, insulated layers, snow styles, transitional layers, and weatherproof performance pieces.
• Research trends in color, materials, and outerwear innovation across outdoor, sport, and fashion markets.
• Create technical sketches, Illustrator drawings, prototypes, 3D mockups, BOMs, and detailed tech packs.
• Select performance fabrics and trims, and work through sampling, fittings, construction, and finalization.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, Materials, Technical Design, and Sourcing on seasonal assortments and product quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience designing women's outerwear, supported by a portfolio showing technical execution and aesthetic leadership.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, patterning, fit, functional performance, seam-sealing, insulation, and ergonomic design.
• Experience taking designs from concept through production, including BOMs, fit comments, and vendor communication.
• Expertise in Adobe Illustrator; proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Figma.
• Familiarity with three-layer shells, mechanical stretch fabrics, waterproof zippers, and insulated liners.
• Must live in the San Diego area or be willing to relocate; this is an onsite role in Carlsbad.
