Sr. Designer - HOKA Lifestyle Footwear

Location: Portland, Oregon; hybrid schedule with office attendance typically three times per week, Tuesday through Thursday.

Salary: $87,900–$118,600 per year in Portland, Oregon.

What you will do

• Create inline lifestyle footwear and product storytelling while balancing design impact, commercial success, and HOKA’s design DNA.
• Translate consumer, cultural, and marketplace insights into footwear concepts, product opportunities, franchise extensions, and new lifestyle expressions.
• Design and develop footwear from concept through commercialization, including renderings, technical drawings, specifications, and tech packs.
• Review and refine prototypes while balancing design vision, consumer relevance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Partner with Development, Materials, Color, PLM, Merchandising, and Marketing teams to deliver cohesive product experiences.
• Present concepts and design intent in team settings and formal reviews while mentoring and supporting fellow designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
• 5+ years of footwear design experience, ideally in lifestyle, sport lifestyle, athletic, fashion, or related consumer product categories.
• Advanced understanding of lifestyle footwear design, construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and product creation.
• Strong concepting, storytelling, visual communication, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Expert ability to create technical footwear drawings, renderings, specifications, and tech packs.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Miro, or Lucid, with familiarity with 3D design and visualization tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vizcom, Firefly, Gravity Sketch, Blender, Rhino, Midjourney, or similar 3D design and visualization platforms.
• Portfolio demonstrating consumer understanding, concept development, storytelling, and footwear execution.
