Maintenance Engineer - ME (Mechanical Equipment)

Location: Kuan Yin, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. On-site, full-time role with possible assignment to another work location based on business needs. 24/7 response availability and regional business travel are required.

What you will do

• Inspect, repair, install, troubleshoot, and commission mechanical equipment at industrial gas facilities.
• Maintain rotating and static equipment, including compressors, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipelines, vessels, expanders, gearboxes, blowers, and vacuum pumps.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, emergency response, and SAP PM activities.
• Coordinate or supervise contractor work to ensure safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
• Prepare technical reports, equipment documentation, maintenance records, and time-entry updates in SAP, ERP, and related systems.
• Support continuous improvement, cost-saving initiatives, equipment reliability programs, and root-cause investigations.

Requirements

• College or university qualification in Mechanical or Machinery Engineering, or technician-level education.
• Relevant experience in gas, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing environments: 1–3 years for technician roles, or 5–8 years of hands-on experience with rotating and centrifugal machinery for more senior technician requirements.
• Hands-on experience with reciprocating and rotating machinery, piping, welding techniques, precision measurement, and machinery materials; rigging, layout drawings, and oxygen cleaning are required for the 8-year profile.
• Ability to respond promptly to scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance requirements on a 24/7 basis.
• Good oral and written communication skills; English is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic office software skills and compliance with applicable safety, health, environmental, and local regulatory requirements.
