Systems Engineer

Location: Sterling, Virginia / Northern Virginia; must be eligible to work in the United States. Domestic travel of up to 15% is required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and support compute, storage, cloud, and operational technology infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve availability, reliability, and security.
• Manage monitoring tools, backups, audits, and testing to support business continuity.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated infrastructure issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop preventive measures for recurring incidents.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and prepare reports on performance and security incidents.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience as a systems engineer in an enterprise or data center environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with on-premises hosting platforms such as vSphere or Hyper-V, NetApp storage, and backup systems.
• Ability to script or code in at least one popular language, such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and successful completion of a comprehensive background screening are required.
• Availability for on-call response to emergency situations may be required.
