Application Portfolio & Governance Advisor (Salesforce)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid with in-person work at an assigned hirify.global office at least two days per week. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $100,100–$150,000 annually, with potential eligibility for an annual bonus and other incentives.

What you will do

• Govern the application, managed package, integration, and third-party solution portfolio supporting the Salesforce ecosystem.
• Maintain application inventory records covering ownership, capabilities, vendors, contracts, licensing, utilization, costs, lifecycle status, and dependencies.
• Establish governance processes for onboarding, evaluation, enhancement, renewal, rationalization, replacement, and retirement.
• Partner with business, operations, finance, procurement, sales support, architecture, security, risk, privacy, legal, and technology stakeholders on portfolio planning and investment decisions.
• Develop business cases and recommendations that quantify costs, business value, resource needs, and operational impacts.
• Build dashboards and executive reporting on application health, adoption, costs, renewals, capability coverage, and optimization opportunities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in application portfolio management, technology governance, Salesforce ecosystem management, business operations, vendor management, procurement, or a related discipline.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS applications, software licensing models, application lifecycle processes, utilization analysis, vendor commitments, and business value assessment.
• Strong understanding of business capability mapping, portfolio governance frameworks, and operational processes connecting technology investments to measurable outcomes.
• Knowledge of Salesforce applications, managed packages, integrations, and ecosystem governance.
• Experience with portfolio, inventory, reporting, or governance tools and the ability to document application relationships, integration dependencies, and lifecycle status.
• Strong analytical, financial, organizational, communication, data analysis, and reporting skills; proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Salesforce ecosystem administration, operations, or platform governance experience.
• Vendor management, contract negotiation, and technology investment planning experience.
• Experience supporting AI-enabled technology governance reviews or emerging technology evaluations.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture, capability modeling, application rationalization, and technology portfolio optimization.
