First Line Risk & Control Associate Director (Banking)

What you will do

• Implement and enhance first-line risk management programs within the company risk framework.
• Lead risk and control assessment walkthroughs, risk exposure analysis, operational risk event reporting, and key risk indicator reporting.
• Partner with business units to design, enhance, and monitor controls that address legal, regulatory, and operational risks.
• Collaborate with risk subject matter experts and business stakeholders across areas including digital, operational, strategic, legal, and compliance risk.
• Lead initiatives to improve internal processes, support change management, and ensure ongoing risk coverage and oversight.
• Hire, coach, train, and manage the performance and development of the risk and control team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, internal audit, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Advanced to expert knowledge of control testing, control programs, and risk and control self-assessments.
• Experience developing and implementing controls, action plans, and root cause analyses.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations, including deposits, loan administration, treasury management, or commercial banking products.
• Previous leadership experience and advanced written and verbal communication skills.
