Sr Technician, Data Analysis

Location: Remote, with the role listed in Lagunilla de Heredia, Costa Rica; occasional in-person attendance at work-related events may be required

What you will do

• Support the development, testing, and deployment of analytical and machine learning solutions.
• Analyze large structured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Prepare and transform data, perform feature engineering, and assist with model validation.
• Create reports, data visualizations, and presentations for technical and business audiences.
• Collaborate on research initiatives and data-driven projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Document analytical methods, assumptions, findings, and project outcomes.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in the final two years of a bachelor's degree or recently graduated in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
• Foundational programming knowledge in Python or R.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Foundational knowledge of statistics, probability, and data analysis.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts through coursework, research, or projects.

Nice to have

• Teaching, research, tutoring, mentoring, academic publication, or conference presentation experience.
• Academic, personal, or capstone projects involving data analysis or machine learning.
• Participation in data science competitions or hackathons.
• Experience collaborating on multidisciplinary academic or project teams.
