Digital and AI Governance Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Facilitate the AI Risk and Ethics Review Board and evaluate AI use cases for bias, discrimination, privacy impact, and reputational harm.
• Monitor AI regulations and guidance, including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and SEC guidance.
• Translate regulatory obligations into internal policies, controls, and governance checkpoints across the AI development lifecycle.
• Develop and manage IT compliance strategy covering ITGC, SOX 404, and digital policy frameworks.
• Lead SOX IT compliance activities, including audit evidence collection, control testing, gap analysis, remediation, and reporting.
• Partner with Legal, InfoSec, IT, Audit, Compliance, Finance, Data & Analytics, and business stakeholders to improve governance maturity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• 8–10+ years of experience in IT compliance, GRC, or audit roles.
• Demonstrated SOX 404 experience, including ITGC testing, documentation, and audit coordination.
• Deep knowledge of COBIT, COSO, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001.
• Working knowledge of NIST AI RMF and the EU AI Act, plus sufficient familiarity with AI/ML concepts to assess risk and engage with technical teams.

Nice to have

• CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP, or equivalent certification.
• AI governance credentials or experience building responsible AI programs.
• Experience with bias detection, fairness testing, and model auditability requirements.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and data privacy considerations related to AI.
• Experience communicating complex compliance and AI risk concepts to senior and executive stakeholders.
