Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Laurel, Maryland, United States. Hybrid attendance is expected; telework may be available for up to 2 days per week when tasking permits, but it is not guaranteed.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop operational prototypes using advanced data-science and machine-learning techniques.
• Build solutions for information overload, discovery, attribution, tracking, and assessment.
• Implement behavioral, geo-temporal, social, and content analysis against full-scale collection.
• Design applications and data systems for robust, flexible, multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Research machine-learning and statistical methods for mission-focused problems.
• Fine-tune and operationalize small ML models through hands-on MLOps work.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or an approved equivalent combination of education and programming experience.
• At least 7 years of experience with Java, C++, or Python.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and developing applications in Windows or UNIX/Linux environments.
• Experience with databases, distributed batch or stream processing, distributed storage, object-oriented systems, and cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Python data-science libraries, JavaScript, Angular, React, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Bash, databases, Linux, Windows, and LLMs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Claude Sonnet 4.
• Ability to write dynamic prompts using the OpenAI Chat Completions API.
