Traveling Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

Location: San Antonio, TX; traveling extensively to remote project sites throughout the United States.

Compensation: $50,000–$74,000 per year.

What you will do

• Receive and log concrete, soil, and other samples for laboratory testing.
• Perform laboratory test procedures and verify compliance with construction plans, contract documents, and project specifications.
• Manage the laboratory quality system and maintain accurate test records in LIMS software.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in good operating condition.
• Work independently at remote project sites, including outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Support additional laboratory tasks and work overtime or weekends as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and work long hours or weekends as required.
• Ability to lift 50–75+ pounds and work independently.
• Experience running Proctor tests, Atterberg Limits, #200 Wash tests, and breaking concrete cylinders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn laboratory management systems.

Nice to have

• ACI Strength Testing Technician certification.
• MoDOT or KDOT HMA certification.
• MoDOT, TxDOT, or KDOT Soils certification.
