Traveling CMT Laboratory Technician

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, USA; travel throughout Arizona required

What you will do

• Perform laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt according to ASTM, AASHTO, company procedures, and project requirements.
• Conduct Proctor compaction, sieve analysis, Atterberg Limits, sand equivalent, uncompacted voids, compression, ignition oven, Marshall/Gyratory, and Rice testing.
• Receive, sample, split, process, and prepare materials for testing.
• Record, calculate, and report test results accurately.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, testing areas, and quality-control documentation.
• Follow applicable safety requirements and support laboratory operations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of laboratory testing experience with soils, aggregates, concrete, and/or asphalt is preferred.
• Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and standard laboratory testing procedures.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Strong mathematical, computer, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds regularly.

Nice to have

• ATTI, ASTM, or AASHTO Soils and Aggregate certification.
• ATTI Asphalt certification.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing certification.
• Relevant experience and aptitude; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
