QA Tech - Quality Assurance - PM Shift (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; onsite, second shift

Salary: $17.55 per hour plus a $0.50 per-hour shift differential

What you will do

• Conduct in-process inspections, measurements, temperature and weight checks, coding verification, and pre-operational inspections.
• Perform laboratory quality testing on ingredients and finished products and verify recipe and formulation specifications.
• Monitor product handling, packaging, time and temperature controls, X-ray systems, and metal detectors.
• Audit production employees and incoming raw materials for compliance with quality, freshness, and monitoring requirements.
• Maintain quality records, reports, testing documentation, and other required procedures.
• Support HACCP, GMP, food safety, sanitation, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, verbal communication, and basic mathematical skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety principles and ability to follow GMP, HACCP, quality, and safety procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible schedules in wet, refrigerated, freezer, and varying-temperature production environments.
• Ability to wear required hearing protection and other personal protective equipment.

Nice to have

• Previous quality assurance, quality control, food safety, food manufacturing, or food-handling experience.
• Experience with inspections, audits, testing, compliance activities, laboratory equipment, or quality records.
• Familiarity with HACCP programs, GMPs, USDA regulations, or food manufacturing standards.
• Experience with metal detectors, X-ray systems, or other quality monitoring equipment.
• Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish.
