Quality Assurance Technician (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Reno, Nevada, USA; onsite midnight shift, Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM. Training requires availability for day-shift hours, which may vary.

Salary: $30.91 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential.

What you will do

• Verify packaging, finished products, work-in-progress samples, and manufacturing processes.
• Perform product testing and review line-monitoring records for accuracy.
• Conduct Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices inspections.
• Identify improvement opportunities, recommend corrective actions, and promote food safety and GMP awareness.
• Submit quality metrics, including mean and Cpk values for torques, net content, labels, pH, TA, and ATP.
• Perform GMP and internal process audits across ordering, receiving, storage, blending, processing, packaging, and shipping.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma plus one of the required manufacturing or food-manufacturing experience paths: 1 year in food manufacturing quality control, 3 years in manufacturing quality control, or 5 years in food manufacturing.
• Fluent English communication is required for verbal, written, and reading communication.
• Proficiency in algebraic mathematics, computer software, and data entry.
• Ability to work a safety-sensitive manufacturing role and the stated overnight schedule.
• Internal applicants must have completed at least one signed-off skill-block level and be in good standing with no written warning or higher.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Food Sciences.
• Statistical process control proficiency and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations and LDMS.
• Ability to present quality results and initiatives to groups of 5–15 people.
