Sr. Principal QA Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Livermore, California, United States. Full-time, regular day shift; the role is based onsite.

Salary: $136,200–$178,815 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Lead the development, governance, optimization, and harmonization of enterprise quality management systems across multiple sites and business functions.
• Own internal, customer, third-party, regulatory, certification, and surveillance audit programs, including corrective actions and effectiveness verification.
• Govern enterprise CAPA, nonconformance, structured problem-solving, and systemic risk-resolution activities using 4C, 8D, RCA, model-based problem solving, and 5 Why analysis.
• Lead Change Control Board governance, risk assessments, impact evaluations, approvals, implementation controls, and effectiveness reviews.
• Own assigned eQMS modules and workflows, defining requirements, improvements, enhancement priorities, data integrity controls, and user adoption strategies.
• Prepare management reviews, quality dashboards, Control Tower metrics, training programs, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related technical field, with 8+ years of related experience; equivalent master’s or PhD pathways are also accepted.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100D, and/or IATF 16949, quality management systems, audit processes, CAPA, change control, and risk-based thinking.
• Experience with eQMS, document control, CAPA workflows, MES, SPC, ERP, Power BI, quality analytics, and manufacturing information systems.
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, facilitation, communication, project management, stakeholder management, and ability to influence without direct authority.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor capital equipment, electronics manufacturing, or another high-technology manufacturing environment, including cleanroom operations.
• Ability to work onsite in Livermore, California during the regular day shift.

Nice to have

• CQE, Quality Lead Auditor, CQA, Green Belt, or Black Belt certification.
• IPC standards, Lean methodologies, FMEA, control plans, process validation, and integrated management system experience.
