What you will do

  • Coordinate due diligence for commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and related transactions.
  • Review and summarize title commitments, surveys, UCC searches, judgment searches, tax searches, and other lien searches.
  • Perform curative title work and obtain permits and other documents from government agencies.
  • Prepare and file deeds, mortgages, lease memoranda, UCC financing statements, organizational documents, and other state- and county-level filings.
  • Prepare closing checklists and binders, distribute closing materials, and coordinate closing processes.
  • Attend zoning and other administrative hearings as needed, while supporting attorneys and coordinating with landlords, developers, and other real estate professionals.

Requirements

  • At least three years of commercial real estate paralegal experience, including financing, lease negotiation, and lending documents and procedures.
  • Solid experience reviewing titles and surveys.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, computer proficiency, legal research skills, and the ability to explain complex concepts in plain English.
  • Ability to handle transactions from initial contract through closing and accurately record billable and non-billable time.
  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved school or a bachelor's degree in law, administration, liberal arts, or a related field.
