HRIS Workday Team Lead (AI)

Salary: $159,745–$197,331.66 annually for the Chicago, IL job location; annual bonus or incentives and restricted stock may also apply.

What you will do

• Maintain, develop, configure, test, and document the Workday HRIS platform across compensation, learning, talent, recruiting, time, absence, payroll, and benefits.
• Direct daily work, schedules, prioritization, and resource allocation for the HRIS team while providing coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance.
• Partner with HR leadership, HR stakeholders, and IT to identify gaps, define requirements, design solutions, and deliver system enhancements.
• Provide advanced technical support, troubleshoot issues, manage tickets, and review Workday configurations and enhancements before production deployment.
• Lead biannual Workday release impact assessments, regression testing, implementation, and end-user communication.
• Lead integrations, EIB processing, AI-powered HR automation strategy, Workday Extend solutions, and data governance activities.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Workday HRIS administration, IT, or a similar field.
• Previous team lead experience, including coaching, training, and developing team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of Workday or HRIS concepts, architecture, infrastructure, strategy, and roadmap planning.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory, legal, audit, and SOX compliance requirements.
• Occasional travel is required.

Nice to have

• Workday certification in HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, Learning, Benefits, or Security.
• Expertise in designing and building AI-powered automation.
• Experience leading Workday Extend solutions.
