Assoc Principal Bioinformatics Scientist (Bioinformatics)

Location: Remote role based in the United States, with the listed location in San Diego, California

Salary: $187,400–$281,000 base salary per year, plus eligible bonus or commission programs and equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Design, model, and develop data management systems integrating laboratory, operational, and research data.
• Build, improve, and maintain high-performance, highly scalable data pipelines.
• Oversee the transition of data pipelines into production and commercial environments.
• Define technology choices and practices that support pipeline maturation.
• Research and assess the viability of new data management and processing technologies.
• Lead complex assignments, mentor others, and guide activities across multiple functions and stakeholder groups.

Requirements

• Typically 15+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 12+ years with a master's degree, or 8+ years with a PhD; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Advanced subject-matter expertise in data management, data processing, and bioinformatics-related systems.
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines and transitioning them to production environments.
• Ability to resolve critical issues, make decisions with limited information, and develop solutions for highly complex assignments.
• Experience leading activities, influencing diverse stakeholders, and mentoring other professionals.
