R&D Technician (Molecular Biology)

Location: Onsite at 12701 Plantside Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Full-time Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed. Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Louisville.

What you will do

• Process human, plant, seed, animal, bacterial, fungal, and probiotic samples for developmental research.
• Perform DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, gel electrophoresis, TaqMan, KASP, and RT-PCR assays.
• Run and optimize wet-lab NGS and tGBS library preparation workflows and conduct basic data analysis.
• Maintain laboratory documentation, ISO records, training records, inventories, equipment, and supplies.
• Receive, label, log, verify, store, transport, and dispose of samples in accordance with SOPs.
• Follow QA and safety protocols, support equipment calibration and routine checks, and communicate results and operational needs to the R&D Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to receive training in molecular biology techniques and R&D protocols.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately, with strong organization and attention to detail.
• Commitment to laboratory safety, quality standards, accurate recordkeeping, and confidentiality.
• Team-oriented approach with effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
