Salary: $96,555–$128,577 annually, plus eligibility for a Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.

What you will do

  • Lead strategic research and innovation projects from concept generation through proof of concept, validation, and technology transfer.
  • Develop medium- and high-voltage switchgear, sensing, power-system monitoring, and data-driven technologies.
  • Create conceptual designs and perform electrical, electromagnetic, dielectric, thermal, structural, and multiphysics analyses.
  • Design, build, and evaluate prototypes through simulation, laboratory testing, and field evaluations.
  • Prepare technical reports, invention disclosures, patents, and scientific publications.
  • Collaborate with product development, systems engineering, manufacturing, universities, laboratories, utilities, and industry organizations while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 8 years of experience in research, advanced product development, or technology development involving medium- or high-voltage equipment.
  • Strong high-voltage engineering background, including insulation systems, switching technologies, power systems, switching transients, insulation coordination, power quality, and electromagnetic phenomena.
  • Experience leading technical projects, transforming research concepts into validated technologies, and managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with prototype development, laboratory testing, engineering validation, and simulation tools such as FEM, electromagnetic, thermal, structural, or CFD tools.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools such as Creo and familiarity with IEEE, IEC, and related industry standards.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10–20%.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in High Voltage Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with intelligent sensors, digital substations, synchronized measurements, grid monitoring, data analytics, AI/ML, or digital power-system solutions.
  • Experience with university collaborations, government research grants, patents, technical publications, or conference presentations.
