Sustaining Scientist (Analytical Chemistry)

What you will do

• Design and execute experiments to investigate product performance and solve complex technical challenges.
• Analyse complex datasets and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Support the introduction of new chemicals, capabilities, and detection requirements into existing products.
• Contribute to algorithm development, performance optimisation, and root-cause investigations.
• Provide scientific expertise to product managers, engineers, customers, and regulators.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation while supporting products and consumables throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

• Experience planning and conducting experimental investigations and designing experiments from high-level problem statements.
• Strong data analysis, interpretation, communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
• Experience working with analytical instrumentation in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to scientific and non-scientific audiences and work independently on technical investigations.
• PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline is preferred; alternatively, a Master's degree with relevant industrial laboratory experience.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).

Nice to have

• Experience with Ion Mobility Spectrometry, Mass Spectrometry, Spectroscopy, or other advanced analytical techniques.
• Experience developing, modifying, troubleshooting, or optimising analytical instruments.
• Background in analytical chemistry research and development, experimental design methodologies, or computational data analysis and modelling.
