The hirify.global collaborates with AWE through the Actinides Centre of Excellence, a five-year research programme focused on fundamental research into actinide materials.

What you will do

• Lead the specification, operation, and optimisation of specialist equipment and processes for actinide analysis and spectroscopy.
• Develop advanced techniques and procedures for actinide analysis in academic and industrial environments.
• Develop and implement actinide sample containment procedures supporting worker safety, instrument preservation, and high-quality analytical outputs.
• Provide specialist training and technical advice to ACE academics, PDRAs, PhD students, and other users.
• Drive continuous improvement of technical services and support the growth of nuclear research capability.
• Collaborate with academic, technical, and external partners to deliver research support and technical innovation.

Requirements

• Senior technical expertise in actinide analysis and spectroscopy.
• Experience with spectroscopic and radiometric techniques for quantifying actinide-containing samples in solution and solid states.
• Ability to operate and optimise specialist, newly acquired, and bespoke-designed instrumentation.
• Ability to develop safe and compliant procedures for nuclear laboratory facilities.
• Ability to provide specialist training and advice to multidisciplinary research users.
