Head of Financial Lines Iberia (Insurance)

Location: Madrid, Spain; team members are expected to work primarily in the office.

What you will do

• Develop, monitor, and manage Financial Lines underwriting strategy across Iberia.
• Lead Cyber, FI, MLC, and PICom underwriting teams and oversee succession planning and performance management.
• Own P&L, budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and profitable portfolio growth.
• Coordinate with Sales, Claims, Actuarial, Operations, Finance, country leadership, and EMEA Financial Lines functions.
• Manage key broker and client relationships, serve as a senior escalation point, and represent Financial Lines in leadership and risk committees.
• Develop products, execute reinsurance strategy, support facultative placements, and provide technical underwriting referrals.

Requirements

• Several years of insurance operational management experience in broad-based European, multinational environments.
• Proven success managing businesses of comparable scale and complexity and delivering profitable growth in general insurance or Financial Lines products.
• Knowledge of the Iberia insurance market, portfolio management, market segmentation, acquisition, and distribution.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, process, systems, business judgment, and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of reinsurance and first-party insurance.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Nice to have

• Portuguese language knowledge.
• Experience overseeing multiple countries and providing external thought leadership through seminars, conferences, or media interviews.
