Principal Solution Architect, Data (Group Benefits)

Location: Hybrid role requiring three days per week at a hirify.global office in Holmdel, NJ; New York, NY; or Bethlehem, PA.

What you will do

• Define enterprise and business solution architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, guardrails, and reusable design patterns.
• Lead architecture decisions for complex initiatives spanning multiple platforms, value streams, and business units.
• Design modern data platforms and pipelines supporting real-time and batch processing, scalable integration, and enterprise analytics.
• Drive adoption of a data product operating model, including ownership, discoverability, interoperability, governance, and measurable business value.
• Embed security, risk, compliance, resilience, performance, observability, lineage, metadata, and automated data quality controls into solutions.
• Collaborate with business, product, engineering, cybersecurity, platform, data, and AI teams while mentoring architects and senior engineers.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data integration, data architecture, data modeling, data engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise technology.
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms, data products, or analytics capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of data mesh, data products, metadata, governance, domain-driven design, APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka, or similar modern data technologies, plus Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience implementing AI-enabled solutions within data ecosystems and working in regulated or risk-sensitive environments, including insurance.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading data product proofs of concept and feasibility assessments.
• Familiarity with product management methodologies and Agile frameworks.
