Research Chemist (Oral Care)

Location: Hybrid role based in Princeton, New Jersey, USA; in-person attendance is required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.

Salary: $71,000–$101,100 base salary annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Support oral care product research and development from concept through launch and post-launch activities.
• Develop bench-top oral care formulations, design experiments, analyze stability data, and provide data-based recommendations.
• Develop technical approaches, assess feasibility, create development plans, and execute projects across multiple concurrent assignments.
• Design and coordinate laboratory testing to substantiate product label claims.
• Transfer technologies to pilot laboratories and manufacturing sites, and provide technical support for production start-ups, launches, and existing product improvements.
• Maintain electronic product specifications, Bundle Books, Design History Files, and other documentation for FDA-regulated OTC products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of laboratory experience.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing workloads.
• Strong organizational, work-planning, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, processing, packaging, analytical, safety, clinical, and regulatory groups.
• Ability to work in the required hybrid schedule in Princeton, NJ, including in-person attendance Tuesday through Thursday.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with 0–3 years of experience.
• Familiarity with FDA-regulated over-the-counter products.
