Bricklayer - Refractory (Manufacturing)

Location: Tanner, Alabama, United States; onsite, full-time with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace refractory linings and castings in furnaces, thermal barriers, and hot boxes.
• Construct arches, lintels, thermal barriers, and tops for electric arc furnaces.
• Prepare refractory materials by cutting bricks and accurately mixing mortar and castable refractories.
• Remove damaged refractory materials and dispose of hazardous materials according to guidelines.
• Operate and safely position cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other mobile equipment for refractory work.
• Coordinate with maintenance crafts, engineering, production personnel, and operations leadership on equipment repairs and improvements.

Requirements

• At least three years of refractory installation experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and process flow diagrams.
• Ability to operate vehicles, work at heights, and work in varied environmental conditions.
• Ability to meet ANSI fall protection requirements and follow industrial safety rules.
• Availability for rotating shifts and flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to attend training and upgrade knowledge as new technologies and methods are introduced.
