Senior System Administrator (Linux)

Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary. Remote work is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Operate and troubleshoot the hardware-focused backend infrastructure of a hyperscaler cloud platform.
• Perform hardware upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, bug management, and incident management.
• Administer Linux systems, physical and virtual networks, routing, and firewalls.
• Work directly at the console and participate in project rollouts and new feature launches.
• Design and implement end-to-end infrastructure automation using industry-standard frameworks.
• Collaborate with specialist teams to deliver reliable services and customer-focused solutions.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of hands-on IT experience focused on modern cloud technologies and hardware-related operations.
• Completed studies in a technical, engineering, or scientific subject, or comparable professional training.
• Strong Linux, Bash, and IT networking fundamentals, including physical and virtual networks, routing, and firewalls.
• Extensive experience with infrastructure automation.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• For remote work, candidates must be located in Hungary.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, APIs, or similar automation technologies.
• OpenStack knowledge or experience contributing to open-source projects.
