Senior Linux Engineer (Cloud & Virtualization)

Location: Lviv, Ukraine; fully remote setup

What you will do

• Act as the final L3 escalation point for complex server, hosting, and network incidents.
• Manage, optimize, and secure Linux hosting environments running CentOS, Ubuntu, and RHEL.
• Administer web servers, databases, caching layers, and distributed storage systems.
• Build and deploy servers from the ground up and automate provisioning with Bash, Python, Perl, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Deploy and manage KVM, Libvirt, OpenStack, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud hosting environments.
• Implement security controls, monitoring, vulnerability management, patching, incident response, and 24/7 on-call support while mentoring L1 and L2 engineers.

Requirements

• 11+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience in web hosting or cloud environments.
• 7+ years in a senior or Level 3 engineering role.
• At least 7 years of expert-level KVM and Libvirt experience.
• Expertise with cPanel, Plesk, WHM, LAMP/LEMP, Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Memcached.
• Strong Perl, Bash, and Python scripting skills; experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, networking, storage, and server construction.
• Good English communication skills and willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

• RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or CKA certification.
