Equity Research Analyst (REITs)

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work environment

Base salary: $175,000 annually, plus competitive commission and incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research on publicly traded REITs.
• Build and maintain financial models, valuation frameworks, and investment theses.
• Analyze company financials, property portfolios, capital structures, management teams, competitive positioning, and sector trends.
• Meet with company management teams, industry experts, analysts, and other market participants.
• Generate buy, hold, and sell recommendations for MFS portfolios and communicate investment views through research, presentations, and discussions.
• Monitor portfolio holdings, earnings, transactions, macroeconomic trends, interest rates, and real estate market fundamentals while collaborating with analysts and portfolio managers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of equity research experience on the buy side or sell side, preferably covering REITs, real estate, financials, or related sectors.
• Passion for real estate investing and public equity markets.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, accounting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to develop differentiated investment insights supported by rigorous research and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a disciplined approach to risk and reward.
• Ability to collaborate with portfolio managers and investment colleagues in a team-oriented environment.

• Advanced degree in finance, business, real estate, economics, or a related field.
